North Carolina Concealed Carry Handgun Permit

This course meets the North Carolina state requirements for receiving a Concealed Carry Handgun permit and is instructed by a North Carolina Department of Justice certified instructor. North Carolina law requires a minimum of eight (8) hours of comprehensive classroom instruction covering common and statutory laws governing the use of deadly force, the concealed carry statutes, and other relevant issues. The course also covers handgun nomenclature and operation, ammunition, safety, storage, cleaning, and issues regarding the carry of a concealed handgun. Following the classroom portion, a written test is administered. At the conclusion of the written test, a course of live fire will be conducted at the outdoor OTC Range Facility. A minimum of forty rounds will be fired from distances of one, three, five, and seven yards from both the ready position and from presentation (draw). The shooter must hit the target a minimum of 28 times to qualify.

NOTE: This class is designed for persons that have had some experience with handguns. If you are not comfortable with a handgun, you should consider the NRA Basic Pistol course or a one-on-one coaching session prior to the day of class. Call for availability and/or to schedule.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Current Driver's License
Pen or pencil with note taking material
Hearing Protection
Eye Protection
UNLOADED FIREARM
Holster or other means of carrying your firearm concealed
A minimum of fifty rounds of factory new ammunition --- No reloads!
Clothing appropriate to the weather on the day of class. Class and range qualifications are NOT cancelled due to weather.

Class begins PROMPTLY at 0800. There is a lot of critical information we have to cover. Please be courteous to your classmates and arrive on time.

POSITIVELY NO AMMUNITION ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM!
We will inspect your firearm at the door!

The course fee of $85 includes the State issued course completion certificate, the course training book, range time, targets, and instructor fee. Ammunition is NOT provided. To reserve your seat in class, you must register and pay for the course prior to your selected class date. The course fee is NON-REFUNDABLE

Cancellation Policy: There are no cancellations allowed due to the expense of obtaining your training materials and certificate from the State. You may reschedule your class date up to one day prior to the class you have selected. Failure to reschedule your course results in forfeiture of your course fee.
